Mustang style steel gas tank with a design that is inspired by Vintage American cars and motorcycles. Features a classic style ridge from front to rear. Tank holds 3.3 Gallon (12.5L.), is 17″ (43 cm) long, 11 1/2″ (29 cm) wide, has a 2″ (5 cm) wide low tunnel and a 3/8 NPT right center petcock opening, as well as rear left and right 1/4 NPT connections. Has universal brackets that makes it easy to mount it to almost any stock or custom frame. The Mustang “ribbed” gas tank is available with screw bung to take a stock or aftermarket 1982-up style vented gas cap, as well as complete with a pop-up style gas cap. GAS TANKS The zinc-chromate primer finish on some of our tanks is provided for the protection of the tanks during shipment and storage. It is not recommended as a primer finish for paint applications without proper surface preparation. As with any fuel tank, particularly one where custom paint is to be applied, all tanks must be pressure tested, then cleaned with tank cleaner and sealed with tank sealer before painting, to protect the final finish and prevent internal rust during winter storage. Fuel capacity is measured with tank in upright position, angle of parked bike will determine actual capacity of the fuel tank.
