Beringer discs use a gray cast iron outer band as this material is universally known to provide the best braking performance for road- as well as racing use. The surface of the cast iron outer band is covered with special aluminum plasma to prevent the disc from corrosion and to allow the usage of any sintered metal pad. This very fine grain surface increases braking power up to 40% and is subject to very little wear to extend lifetime. Beringer’s “Aeronal” discs are designed for High Performance applications. They feature narrow cast-iron outer bands and CNC machined carriers machined from aeronautic aluminum. In combination with as little as 6 studs instead of the 12 used in Beringer’s Classic style discs; this reduces the gyroscopic effect to increase the maneuverability of the bike. Discs are available with the carriers in chrome, polished or black anodized. It is strongly recommended to use these discs with sintered brake pads or, for ultimate braking performance, with Beringer calipers. Not compatible with OEM brake calipers.
