STOCK 1ST GEARS, Counter shaft first gear 17 tooth, Andrews. Fits 1973 thru 1984, may be used late 1984 thru 1990 models when used in conjunction with a 1954 thru 1984 style countershaft and thrust washers, Andrews stock C1 gear XL73-85 (90), Andrews

These gears will fit Sportster 4 Speed transmissions made from 1956 thru 1990. All gears are made from high nickel alloy steel which is heat treated and shot peened for maximum durability. With proper shot peening, the wear resistance of drive edges and slots is greatly improved.

WIDE AND CLOSE RATIO GEAR SETS FOR 4 SPEED SPORTSTER TRANSMISSIONS
The wide ratio 1st. gear set changes 1st. from 2.52 ratio to 2.68 for more low end torque with 21T or 22T trans sprockets. “C” ratio main drive gears will provide true close ratio shifting on a 4 Speed Sportster. For comparison we list all gear ratios.

“W”-1 is Wide ratio 1st. plus stock main drive (27/17 teeth)
“W”-2 is Wide ratio 1st. plus “C” ratio main drive (26/18 teeth)
